Tasty Tuesday: Chicken Rollies

Welcome back to Tasty Tuesday!
Every Tuesday I’ll be posting recipes and meal ideas for picky eaters. Along with whether or not it was a success at our house. I’m hoping for mostly successes :)
Today I’m sharing a favorite recipe from my childhood! Anne has dubbed them :
Chicken Rollies
Here’s what you’ll need:
Crescent Rolls (pop n’ fresh variety)
5 Tb Butter
1/2 Package of Cream Cheese
3 Chicken Breasts
Bread Crumbs
Let your butter and cream cheese soften and then mix together. Cook chicken, shread and mix with cream cheese and butter. Place a spoonful of chicken on each crescent roll and then roll up. Dip in melted butter and then bread crumbs. Bake on a cookie sheet per the instructions on your crescent roll package.
Success! These probably aren’t super healthy but anytime we can get her to eat meat is big progress for us! Now to work on the table manners….
Oh gosh… ignore everything scattered on our floor in the background. Now you know what our home looks like at 5:30 :)

Oh… you could also skip the butter if you want (its not really that necessary… my husband and I have tweaked this recipe over the 8 years we’ve been making it), and it wouldn’t be hard to sneak some veggies in either… try finely grated carrot, or smashed cauliflower mixed right into the cream cheese/chicken mixture. :)

you could improve te the health-factor on these by using low-fat cream cheese and using homemade bread dough instead of canned crescent dough. Keep at it! I’ve got 3 littles (oldest is 5) and the presistance of forcing healthy food upon them is starting to pay off: my kids will now very happily eat broccli, spiniach, fresh peas, carrots, avacado, fish, chicken, and all kinds of fruit… plus they started asking to try new things they find in the grocery store. The last 2 trips to the gorcery store had them discovering cauliflower (which they loved) and brussel sprouts (which we haven’t tried yet… soon!). It gets better… keep at it!
